Now that the 2002 season is in the books, Brett Favre`s career numbers have climbed to new heights.
Here`s how some of his key career stats stack up after his 12th NFL season, and 11th as field general for the Green Bay Packers:
Favre took over first place on the NFL`s list of all-time home records. The 8-0 run at Lambeau in 2003 made Favre 74-12 (.860) all time at home. That puts him well head of previous record-holder Terry Bradshaw (67-12, .848, Pittsburgh). Roger Staubach (49-10, .831, Dallas) is third.
Favre also leapt over Steve Young and Ken Stabler into third place on the NFL`s list of best overall record for a starting QB. With the team`s 12-4 regular-season mark, Favre reached .665, ranking behind Joe Montana (117-47, .713), and a game back of second-place Bradshaw (107-51, .667).
The Packers` four wins in December boosted Favre`s twelfth-month mark to 36-11 (.766), still fourth on the league`s all time list behind Staubach, Theisman and closing in on Montana (.767)
The Packer QB now owns a share of the league`s all-time mark for most consecutive post-season games with a touchdown pass. His scoring strike to Donald Driver marked the 13th consecutive post-season game in which Favre has thrown a TD pass, tying Dan Marino.
Favre also added three new venues to his list, posting wins in all three: Detroit`s Ford Field, Memorial Stadium in Champaign, Ill., and CMGI Field in Foxboro, Mass.
Favre also tied Bradshaw for the third spot over all on the career post-season touchdown list with 30. More to come!
